4 Ways to Integrate Trello Boards with Confluence Software

Confluence software

Trello is a collaboration tool just like Confluence software and it can be used to organize stories, ideas, projects, and other work. Trello uses cards that can be dragged and dropped between lists. Users can easily see what someone is working on, its progress, and deadlines with a quick glance. Both of them can be used together to create a vision, plan for it, and then put it into action by laying out the details.

Integration Ways With Confluence Software

  1. Importing from Trello to Confluence Software
Confluence is mostly used to build a vision while Trello is more appropriate for breaking down work into bite-sized tasks. It is easier to organize efforts with Trello’s lists. The good news is that users can do both at the same time by importing from Trello to Confluence.

The software updates in real-time so whatever changes users, collaborators, or guests make from either one of the platforms will reflect on both immediately. The process is completely safe and secure since users have to provide the necessary permissions before integrating both applications. Signing in to Trello before allowing the content to display on Confluence software pages is a necessary requirement. Only those who have access can view the content on their Confluence screens.

    2. Shared Trello Links

Users can copy and paste the URL of a Trello card onto a Confluence page and it can automatically render itself into a card when the page is published. Viewing the status of the task, subscribing to updates, commenting on them, and keeping track of changes is all possible this way. The users need to add more information by clicking on the card. They can also access Trello with a single click and edit the card immediately.

Trello bards also allow users to paste a link that will display as a board tile. These tiles give an overview of the board without the details. Documentation can be linked-to files from the Confluence project management tool and teams can add any information to the board by clicking the tile to open Trello.

    3. Using Trello Macro Boards

There are fully interactive Trello boards that can be opened through Confluence pages. The settings menu has an option where users can embed the URL for their board and display it at whatever height they chose.
Macro boards are completely functional and compatible with Confluence demo pages. It is easy to move cards from one list to another and edit the details. All actions that can be performed on the Trello platform will be available on Confluence too.

    4. Add a Confluence Page to the Trello Card

Integrations between these platforms are two-way and you can use the Confluence power-up to change Trello. Confluence Cloud pages are added to Trello cards and all the content is condensed and accessible with a single click. Users can also create new pages directly from the Trello board. All the activities can be viewed from the page by all those who have permission. This includes important dates, snippets, and the number of comments on the page.
